Default Looking for 2 ranger builds for heroes please :)

I need help

I have proph, factions, nightfall and access to any elites in those campaigns. I'm looking for a interupt build and another good build for the ranger heroes (barrager?). Thanks for any help you can provide!

every bow ranger build has interrupt potential with distracting and savage shot. however if you want a pure interrupter you can add choking gas, broad head arrow or even both. personally I think that's overkill on interrupts but whatever suits you...
as for a build:
Broad Head Arrow{E} or Crippling Shot{E}/Burning Arrow{E}/Prepared Shot{E}/other if you use Choking Gas and dont want overkill on interruption, Crippling Shot being the better choice as its unblockable.
Distracting Shot
Savage Shot
Apply Poison/Choking Gas/Read the Wind
Whirling Defenses/other stance of choice
Troll Unguent
Res Sig
with your last slot I'd preffer a condition removal or some other strong utility, Antidote Signet if you're pure Ranger, Remedy Signet if you're R/P, Mending Touch, Sight Beyond Sight if you're R/Rit, etc
however if you brought Choking Gas along you might want to bring an unblockable shot such as Called Shot

as for the barrager, standard barrage build with or without pet
Barrage
Distracting Shot
Savage Shot
Needling Shot/Marauder's Shot/Keen Shot/etc
Whirlind Defenses/other stance of choice
Troll Unguent
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal

if you dont want a pet you can pick any 2 utility skills, depending on secondary profession.
Splinter Weapon is a very popular option, even after nerf. perhaps combine with some other weapon spell.

Myeh. Pretty much what I run as a BHA ranger, 'cept without Stride... 'cuz the AI spams it as a run stance, not as a defensive stance.
And the higher Expertise is crucial... the AI like spamming

The damage and interuption that chocking gas provides will always hit, regardless of if they blocked or you miss due to blindness or a hex, as long as the casters doesnt kite the arrow while its in flight.

The following builds are ones that i use to interupt and are specially usable with heroes as they have great reflexes:

Expertise:16, Marksmanship: 10 Wilderness Survival: 10
[skill]Magebane shot[/skill][skill]savage shot[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]Concussion Shot[/skill][skill]read the wind[/skill][skill]whirling defense[/skill][skill]Troll unguent[/skill][skill]Resurrection signet[/skill]

A silencing recurve bow would be nice, to increase the duration of daze to 21 seconds. With magebane shot instantly recharging after interupting spells, so by itself will be able to shutdown any caster. Using concussion shot on one caster and letting another team mate deal with him will shutdown that caster until Daze expires, or is removed.

Using choking gas is nice, however it doesnt last that long without practiced stance, however if you want to go that way you can send a continous stream of aoe interupting arrows. Use the same build as above only exchanging RTW for CG, Magebane for PS. Bringing an IAS (ie flurry) and a shortbow would incrase your interuption rate to an interupt every 1.33 seconds.

1. Barrage
2. Splinter Weapon
3. Distracting Shot
4. Savage Shot
5. Throw Dirt
6. Lightning Reflexes
7. Mending Touch
8. Rez Signet or Res Chant

10 Channeling, 13 Expertise, 12 Marksman

Or add 6 BM for having a pet, they are invaluable fragbaits
Then replace 6 and 7 with Charm and Comfort Animal: OggkYVXamKqziBj9YUNoGazmJ5C

This is BHA+Volley+Splinter Weapon:
OggjctZqoSghYMPGqGuSoGFHJXA

And this is Barrage Pet with Interrupts and Feral Aggression. You should have 12 BM - this reduces blackout when the pet dies and gives it attack power, just like weapons get 100% damage at an attribute of 12, plus Feral Aggression: OgMU0C7e1sSLGPGqGehoG0GbGoRA

I actually prefer Throw Dirt over putting any points in Wilderness Survival just for a heal that has a 3 second cast. It distracts the heroes much more than they use it cleverly in PvE, they mostly get interrupted or waste time. Throw Dirt on the other hand can save other party members and having 2 ranger heroes gives you a good chance to keep melee mobs blinded for a long time.

As Rez I recommend the Rez Signet, Res Chant or Death Pact Signet, and you should disable the rez skill for the heroes and control it manually.

Sorry dude, you cant have skills from the ranger, monk AND ritualist professions in one build. :P

anyway,

The BHA, choking gas and Magebane Shot builds are all excellent on heroes.

If you want a bit more damage you could also try the old BA/Apply build.

[card]Burning Arrow[/card][card]Distracting Shot[/card][card]Savage Shot[/card][card]Apply Poison[/card][card]Mending Touch[/card][card]Troll Unguent[/card][card]Whirling Defense[/card][card]Resurrection Signet[/card]

if you have a condition removal monk or similar in the team you could swap mending touch out for something like the new GWEN interupt. (i cant remember its name)

Not just Rangers, but for any hero profession; look up the Eye of the North hench and see how they are set up. The AI uses those skills well.

Also pvxwiki lists builds that are specifically designed for heroes. Good ideas there too.

this build is too packed with interrupts. magebane recharging instantly is enough vs any caster, the 3 others are when you interrupt a skill not a spell. but than only distracting really has an effect on skills. and by the way, where does the AI's energy come from? he will drain himself to death even with max expertise. spamming interrupts on anything will drain it so fast that he'll become useless...

Has someone tried to make one of his heroes a beast master or trapper?
I wonder if the AI could deal with something like that
maybe a bunny thumper might work...
